If your window frames are in good condition we can replace the sashes (moving parts) only, allowing for double glazing without completely replacing the window frame, this will minimize disruption as well as keeping the heritage look of your window.
Our employed surveyors with many years of experience will replicate all detailing such as ornate, glazing bars and mouldings to ensure your new windows are fully in keeping with your property.
Your new sashes will be expertly handcrafted by our employed craftsman to match your original windows, with a choice of sustainably sourced timber using either high-quality treated Nordic Pine, Hardwood Sapele or Accoya timber.
The majority of our new timber sash windows are handcrafted using Accoya wood, a sustainably sourced modified wood that comes with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee.

New Sashes Window Into Existing Box Frames
We believe our new double-glazed sashes fitted into existing box frame service is the most comprehensive within the market. Your new sashes will be supplied fully painted, applied with 4 coats of micro-porous paint.
Double glazing brings many benefits, including improved draught proofing, better heat retention, noise reduction, improved security giving the look of a new window without the cost. At the same time this service allows you to retain the heritage look whilst keeping your original box frame and architraves.
Sashes are handcrafted to match the original design as closely as possible and SJB have many glazing options including safety/security glass, acoustic glass, stained glass, or obscure patterned glass.
The existing sashes, weights & beads are carefully removed and disposed of.
Original box frame pulley styles are stripped back to its original timber, sanded, repaired & filled as necessary to prepare for painting.

Install Bespoke Sash For Your London Home
We use microporous paints with a RAL colour of your choice to apply 2 x undercoat and 2 x topcoats to the existing box frame inside and out, ready to hang your bespoke new sprayed finished sashes.
Your handcrafted sashes are installed into the existing box frame with our weather pile draught proofing system and new weights are supplied to counterbalance the much heavier double-glazed sashes.
Once your bespoke sashes are installed our craftsman will apply a final topcoat to the complete box frame giving your window a beautiful crisp finish.
Lastly, a full set of elegant window fittings: sash lifts, pulls, fitch fastener with key operated restrictor locks, which makes your home more safe and secure will be applied to give you the fully finished product.
When installing new single/double glazed sashes into existing box frames you will not receive a FENSA certificate as the existing box frames are refurbished instead of being replaced. This is classed as being a “repair” so, this means that a FENSA certificate is not required for this work.
