Paint Finish
All our manufactured sash windows, casements & doors are treated with timber preservation which protects from wet & dry rot. After this, the bespoke product receives primer and three coats of microporous acrylic paint. All bespoke products are then hung dried in our dedicated drying room.
4 – coat spray finish in Satin or Gloss finish with an optional on site hand painted coat if preferred.
What is the definition of Micro-porous?
Micro-porous materials are classified as materials which have a pore size of less than 2nm (nanometer) which will allow the free passage of water vapour. Micro-porous paints allow water vapour to pass through them, but do not allow water molecules to. They are therefore termed as ‘breathable’.
Colour Matching
Upgrade to any RAL colour either side of the frame. Here at SJB Sash Windows we are adept at successfully matching colours with the existing coatings on the property, including stains and varnishes.
Moisture Vapour Permeable (MVP), or Microporous allow the timber to loose moisture at a greater rate than standard paints, this can prevent a build-up of moisture beneath the coating, reducing the risk of the coating losing adhesion, or the timber rotting.
